Akilah believes in the healing power of tea. As a busy mom of three Akilah enjoys her Tea Time as a method of relaxation and centering. Maadi Tea is a collection of Akilah's favorite teas for everyone to enjoy.

Maadi is a play on the owner's middle name Dia Amadi which means "a champion of happiness." Happiness promotes good health and thus is a great brand characteristic for Maadi Tea.
Maadi is also a place in East Africa connecting two cities by a river. In Arabic, Maadi means "crossroad." Maadi Tea's purpose is to transcend borders and cultures and provide a meditative experience to all.
