THE NAME
Maadi is a play on the owner's middle name Dia Amadi which means "a champion of happiness." Happiness promotes good health and thus is a great brand characteristic for Maadi Tea.
Maadi is also a place in East Africa connecting two cities by a river. In Arabic, Maadi means "crossroad." Maadi Tea's purpose is to transcend borders and cultures and provide a meditative experience to all.
MEET THE FOUNDER
Akilah Dia Amadi
Akilah began her career as an entrepreneur straight out of college. After creating Nura Magazine, Akilah was immersed into the world of fashion and business. Akilah co-founded Kids Fashion Week Network which has grown in to a national brand.
Akilah believes in the healing power of tea.
As a busy mom of two Akilah enjoys her Tea Time as a method of relaxation and centering. Maadi Tea is a collection of Akilah's favorite teas for everyone to enjoy.
